People confuse the ability to lift weights with the ability to get stronger. While on the basketball court the only appropriate bench is the one you sit on. The strength you need should be functional. When you play; such as grabbing a reboundWith authority or boxing out.

 

Sky High Jumping
Everyone knows that jumping ability is extremely important when it comes to basketball. However, when to use it & how to develop it has been confused and watered-down over the years. At PSA the average improvement is 6 inches. It's easier to make a basket when you can elevate over a taller opponent!

When you play lacrosse, you need the speed to break away from your defender, the ability to fend off blows with your opponent’s stick and the ability to concentrate on putting the lacrosse ball in the goal even when your are fatigued. The ability to maintain your form and succeed in a long game requires as much mental toughness as it does physical strength.

Rhythm Is A Dancer
The jumps, tumbling and stunting positions involved in cheerleading require extensive flexibility. PSA focuses on head-to-toe stretching of all of the major muscle groups & also focus on cheerleading-specific stretches such as straddles, splits and back bends.

 

Yes It's A Sport
In order to perform for 2 1/2 minutes straight, competitive cheerleaders need endurance. Cardiovascular exercise is what will build endurance. Cheerleaders should be encouraged to participate in aerobic activities especially PSA classes.
